Match Report
The King's School, Worcester Girls-U14A vs  County Netball
On: Saturday, 10 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

The 14 squad faced a tough challenge on Saturday with poor conditions, a team that had not had the maximum amount of training together as a squad and some tough opposition. They started their pool stages with a victory of 13-1 over Holy Trinity; this was a great opportunity for all of the players to get on court and clear out any nerves and test out different combinations. The accuracy of Lizzie Poole’s shooting and Freya Sinclair’s fantastic reach helped to cement their first victory. They continued their winning streak against Malvern St James with a narrower victory of 7-3. More combinations were tried and tested and the dynamic attack of Poppy Sawyer and Abbie Diaz with the shooters, Emily Williams and Tamara Marsden saw them through to victory. The defensive pressure of Olivia Sproule, Amy Ranasinghe, Lucy short and Freya Sinclair saw many a turnover, but there was an the issue of taking the ball to goal which was particularly felt in their third match against Bromsgrove, seeing their first loss of 11-4.

Their efforts saw them through to the semi-final, but, unfortunately for the players, it was not to be. What this tournament has shown is the potential for KSW Netball for future years. With time, hard work and effort these players will see success in the future.
